Admission Process & Guidelines
The admission process at Rajadhani Institute of Engineering and Technology (RIET) follows a structured procedure for various academic programs, including B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, BHMCT and Diploma. Here’s an outline of the general admission procedure for these programs.
PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION TO B.Tech.
B.Tech. admission is based purely on merit. Academic eligibility is as per the norms of Govt. of Kerala/A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University/All India Council for Technical Education
Commissioner of Entrance Examination as per the present rules fills up the 50% of the seats on the basis of engineering entrance rank. The remaining 50% is filled up by the management as per the government norms.
Academic eligibility :A pass in 10 + 2 (Class XII) or in equivalent examination scoring an aggregate or not less than 45% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
Eligibility for Working Professionals (B.Tech)
- Candidates who have passed Three years/Two years(Lateral Entry) Diploma in Engineering and Technology with minimum score 45% (40% in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/SEBC categories) in any branch Passed B.Sc degree from a recognized university with minimum score 45% (40% in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/SEBC categories) with Mathematics at 10+2.
- Minimum one year regular working experience in registered industry/Organization
PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION TO M.Tech Course
Eligibility:
Candidates must have completed a B.Tech or an equivalent degree in a relevant discipline, typically with a minimum 60% marks.
Selected candidates shall take admission in the appointed time after paying the Tution fees and other University fee.
M.TECH ADMISSION FOR WORKING PROFESSIONALS 2024
- Tech for Working Professionals can be acquired after completing B.Tech programmes and offers an opportunity for B.Tech holders to obtain M. Tech Degree in Engineering while working.
Timings for conduct of classes normally shall be in the evening hours/ any flexible convenient timing (including weekends/ holidays).
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
A candidate should have B.Tech./B.E. Degree or equivalent examination in the relevant discipline as mentioned below as per University norms:
- The applicant should have been employed in the Registered industry / Organization (Central / State) / Private/ Public Limited Company/ MSMEs for a minimum continuous period of ONE Year on a Full time basis.
- There shall be no age limit to apply for admission to the course
PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION TO MBA Course
Eligibility:
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (3 years) from a recognized University, as stipulated by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University with a minimum of 50% marks.
A relaxation of 5% in marks (i.e., minimum 45%) or equivalent is applicable for SEBC candidates.
- For SC/ST students, a pass in the qualifying examination is sufficient.
A valid score in a MBA entrance exam (such as CAT, KMAT, CMAT, or any other recognized exam) is normally required.
Admission Process:
- Group Discussion and Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).
- Final Selection: The final selection is based on the entrance exam score, GD/PI performance, academic records, and sometimes work experience.
PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION TO BHMCT Course
Admission to 4 year BHMCT programme is through qualifying aptitude test KHMAT
ELIGIBILITY: A pass in the plus two or equivalent, with 45% marks are eligible for admission.
- Admission is strictly based on merit. The admission rank list for Hotel Management courses will be prepared from the mark obtained in the Qualifying Examination.
PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION TO Diploma Course (Three year course)
Candidates must have completed 10th or equivalent with the required
Candidates those have passed qualifying examination with Mathematics, English and Science subjects are eligible to apply
Diploma Lateral Entry (2 Years)
The candidate should have passed +2/equivalent examination with Mathematics, physics and chemistry after completion of 2 years regular course. The candidate should have a minimum score of 50% in Physics, Mathematics and other relevant mandatory additional course put together.
In the case of 2 years matric courses of NCVT/SCVT/KGCE candidates, they shall have a minimum of 50% of the aggregate marks in the qualifying examination and they will be considered for admission to any branch of Engineering and Technology.
Diploma Working Professionals (2 Years)
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed +2/equivalent examination/VHSE with minimum score of 50% in Mathematics, physics and chemistry/other relevant mandatory additional course or Passed 2 years matric courses of NCVT/SCVT/KGCE with a minimum of 50% of the aggregate marks in the qualifying examination in any branch.
Minimum one year regular working experience in registered industry/ Organization
