CSI
The Computer Society of India (CSI) is a prestigious organization dedicated to advancing the field of computing in India. Established in 1965, CSI is the largest and oldest body of computer professionals in India, with a robust network of over 500 chapters and student branches across the country. It aims to promote the growth and excellence of computing and information technology in India.
At RIET, the CSI chapter provides students with diverse opportunities to:

ACTIVITIES UNDER PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES
ALUMNI INTERACTION ON PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES & HIGHER STUDIES
The talk was conducted by Mr. Sharath Nair, Associate Software Developer in Cognizant Bangalore. Mr. Sharath had shared his way of studying and what should be done for getting placed. Students asked their doubts about higher studies and about jobs. The main intention of the interaction was to inform them about the various career paths and opportunities available.
ALUMNI INTERACTION ON PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES & HIGHER STUDIES
The talk was conducted by Mr. Ashish Khuraishi K S,Software engineer in Navana. The main intention of the alumni interaction is to establish a formal mentorship program pairing students with alumni for personalized guidance.
EXPERT TALK ON CYBER SECURITY IN CLOUD
WORKSHOP ON LINUX / UNIX SCRIPT PROGRAMMING
The workshop was conducted by Sunith VS and Rohith T P, They are pre final year students in CUSAT and active members in thinker hub. The primary intention behind conducting this workshop was to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to become proficient in Linux/Unix shell scripting.
PRE – PLACEMENT TECHNICAL TRAINING FOR FINAL YEAR CYBER SECURITY STUDENTS
The first session was conducted by Mr. Sumith Sugathan on 6th August 2024. The area was an introduction to pseudo code. The second day was conducted by Mr. Aswin P Chandran & Mr. Sreekanth Gopinathan Sarojini. The day started with an area of advanced C programming. The third day was conducted by Mr. Sumith Sugathan. The area was Data Structures and Advanced coding, pseudo code questions in Data Structures were discussed. The intention behind the technical training program for final-year CY students is to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the technical skills required by the industry.
The first session was conducted by Mr. Aswin P Chandran. The area was an introduction to pseudo code. The second & third day was conducted by Ms. Nishana S S. The second day started with an area of advanced C programming. For the third day, the area was Data Structures and Advanced coding, pseudo code questions in Data Structures were discussed. The intention behind the technical training program for final-year CSE students is to provide focused, hands-on experience in problem-solving, programming, system design, and soft skills development; the training aims to enhance the employability of students.
