Diploma in Computer Engineering
Computer Engineering is a branch of engineering that integrates several fields of computer science and electronic engineering required to develop computer hardware and software. Computer engineers usually have training in electronic engineering (or electrical engineering), software design, and hardware-software integration instead of only software engineering or electronic engineering. Computer engineers are involved in many hardware and software aspects of computing, from the design of individual microcontrollers, microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design. This field of engineering not only focuses on how computer systems themselves work but also how they integrate into the larger picture.
CAREER OPTIONS AND JOB PROSPECTS
Computer professionals can work as a computer programmer, data scientist, systems analyst, software developer, hardware engineer, IT consultant, system engineer, system designer, IT specialist, networking engineer, database administrator, web developer, mobility tester, e-commerce specialist, programmer, software tester, etc, and exercise various other job profiles. Computer Engineering professionals can build their career in numerous domains like artificial intelligence, embedded systems, ethical hacking, wireless networks, computer manufacturing, database systems, web applications, animation, computer graphics, scientific modelling, computational biology, video games development, mobile application development, data science, network administration, etc.

The Department of Computer Engineering is equipped with well-established and modern
laboratories to support experiential learning and skill development in accordance with the
curriculum requirements. The laboratories enable students to apply theoretical concepts
through hands-on practice and are aligned with Outcome Based Education (OBE) to ensure
effective attainment of Course Outcomes (COs) and Program Outcomes (POs).
Programming Laboratory
The Programming Laboratory provides practical training in problem-solving and algorithm development using programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and Java. The laboratory strengthens logical thinking and coding skills, enabling students to design and implement efficient programs.
Web Technology Laboratory
The Web Technology Laboratory offers hands-on experience in designing and developing dynamic websites and web applications. Students work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and modern development tools to gain practical exposure to client-side and server-side technologies.
Database Management Systems Laboratory
The DBMS Laboratory focuses on data modeling, database design, and implementation using relational database management systems. Students gain practical experience in SQL, normalization, and database connectivity, which enhances their understanding of data management concepts.
Computer Networks Laboratory
The Computer Networks Laboratory enables students to understand networking concepts through simulation and practical experiments. Students are trained in network configuration, protocols, IP addressing, and troubleshooting using appropriate tools and software.
Operating Systems / System Software Laboratory
This laboratory provides hands-on experience with operating system concepts such as process management, memory management, file systems, and system-level programming. Students develop practical skills related to system operations and resource management.
Project and Advanced Computing Laboratory
The Project and Advanced Computing Laboratory supports mini projects, major projects, and skill-based activities. Students apply emerging technologies such as data analytics, artificial intelligence tools, cloud platforms, and open-source software to develop innovative solutions.
Laboratory Infrastructure
● All laboratories are equipped with adequate number of computers with updated hardware and licensed/open-source software.
● High-speed internet and networking facilities are available for academic and project work.
● Laboratories are periodically upgraded to meet industry standards and curriculum revisions.
● Safety, maintenance, and usage guidelines are strictly followed.
Outcome Based Learning Support
The laboratory sessions are structured to achieve defined Course Outcomes (COs). Student performance is continuously assessed through laboratory exercises, assignments, practical examinations, and project evaluations. Attainment analysis is carried out and corrective actions are implemented for continuous improvement.
